The Chefs’ Table - A Feast for the Senses

It was truly an honour to host our own event, The Chef's Table, which took place at the magnificent National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh on the 29th of September 2023. Andrew Hamer, managing Director of Wilde Thyme, had a vision of great chefs coming together to provide a unique dining experience to honour loved ones and raise money for the Beatson Cancer Charity.

Five of the best multi-award-winning Michelin-starred Chefs came together to raise funds in aid of Beatson Cancer Charity through a unique fundraising event, 'The Chefs' Table - A Feast for the Senses'. The event featured an extraordinary lineup of Michelin-starred chefs; Adam Handling, Simon Attridge, Stephen McLaughlin, Tom Kitchin, and Andrew Hamer, presenting a five-course menu that highlighted the finest ingredients from Scotland's natural larder.

Course one, prepared by Simon Attridge, Executive Chef of Gleneagles, was a celeriac and hazelnut tart with baby leek, quail egg, and truffle. Sponsored by Wellocks and Mark Murphy part of The Total Produce Group.

Course two, prepared by Tom Kitchin, Chef Proprietor of Michelin-starred The Kitchin, was baked scallops in the shell, in a white wine sauce with a julienne of carrot and courgette. Sponsored by Campbells Prime Meat Ltd.

Course three, prepared by Stephen McLaughlin, Head Chef of Andrew Fairlie 2 Michelin Star, was a smoked lobster with a lime and herb butter sauce. Sponsored by George Campbell & Sons.

Course four, prepared by Andrew Hamer, Managing Director at Wilde Thyme, was roasted highland venison wellington, served with damson relish, silky broccoli purée & heritage beetroot. Sponsored by Highland Game.

The fifth and final course, prepared by Adam Handling, Owner of Adam Handling Restaurants, was his award-winning dessert ‘Food Fight’ - a playful reinterpretation of the classic trifle, meadowsweet, strawberries, and burnt butter cake.

An incredible £125,493 was raised for Beatson Cancer Charity on the night. A huge thank you to everyone who made the night such a success.
