A downtown Ottawa barbecue joint has agreed to lease its former location at the iconic St. George’s Place building.
The St. John’s Barbecue Company, located on the corner of Parliament Street and Queen Street, says it’s in the final stages of its lease renewal and plans to open the bar at the former location of the St. Johns Grill in the near future.
The restaurant has been in operation since 1972.
John’s Barbershop Company says it plans to reopen the location in spring 2018.
The new lease will allow the restaurant to expand its range of menu items and add more patio seating, the company says on its website.
